Hello all,

Just wanted to share what my palms look like after this cold 4 degree F weather here near the Smoky Mountains!

That's for sure, did much better than the Rhapidophyllum!

Are these hemlocks,I’m looking at in picture 3. I can’t be sure bu it looks like perhaps? Maybe bald cypress on the left?

The one near the street (picture 2) is a Bald Cypress and the tree (picture 3) in front of the Hemlock is a Dawn Redwood.

I had my right and left backwards in picture 3 🤦‍♂️. I was already half asleep when I posted that. 😂

Are hemlock native there? I have a few I planted here that I brought back from my camp in Maine. They’re doing surprisingly well, and I’m out of the native range so not too worried about woolly adelgid..

My experience too. Not sure why. I have some Needles that have done great over the years, yet also lost a couple along the way.

Yes they are native here, especially in the mountains.
