Hi had a question regarding whether this tree is dying or its making way for new fronds and killing off old leaves. Also seems like it is taking a long time for the new frond to come out and one frond seems to be stuck in its position. I had transplanted this last year 9 months ago and it might have caused some shock to the plant and roots but hoping it can recover and wanted to get opinion from others as to what is happening?

Also I noticed recently some hair like threads coming out of the tree as seen in some pictures. What is that?

Looks almost exactly like my Bismarckia here in NorCal. Several of my palms have threads that form on the leaf margins. Totally normal. Nannorrhops ritchiana has very long leaf threads in particular.

Everything is looks normal. As long as the spear is pushing, you’re good. Pretty common to have setback or even death from moving or transplanting Bismarckia so I wouldn’t touch it again. These do great for us in SoCal so I’m sure it’ll be fine. Especially if it’s in blasting sun with above average watering. Good luck.
