Growing Chambeyronia macrocarpa in pots?

These seem like big palms.  Would they grow for any length of time potted?  They’re available at Flora Grubb in San Francisco, kind of pricey so would not want to try this if they’ll be stunted/look badly.  They are beautiful palms, wish I had more space to put one (or several) in the ground, but I do not.

I have several in the ground, most I've grown from seed. They did well for me to 3g until I planted them.  Four of them are much older and should be giving seed, but I'm still waiting. I'm not really sure when this magic moment occurs. I want to grow MORE. There's a lot of waiting with palms. If you don't have much room, I would start with small ones in containers. They are an emergent palm and like shade until they grow through the canopy from what I have read.

I appreciate the encouragement, SoFlo.  If I’m feeling spendy/up for a challenge abd go through with it I will be sure to report any successes or failures.  I’m curious how long yours were in the 3 gallons before plunking them in the ground?

I’m guessing I would need to consider a very large pot to do this for any length of time?  I know some palms are more suited to pot culture than others.

Bryan, seems worth a go in a pot as long as you can give it a protected spot and keep it moist.

They're slow here. There are many seed bearing Chambeyronia in SoCal and seedlings in bands/liners are easily shipped up here for a very affordable price, much less than a 3g or 5g nursery plant at NorCal prices. No rush if it's going to live in a pot, and you get to watch it grow up.

I have a small potted seedling growing in morning sun, at about the same rate as a Howea. Seems unlikely to enter our landscape, but you never know.
