First white "Texas Star" Hibiscus bloom of the season

White Texas Star Hibiscus (Hibiscus coccineus 'Alba'). A really dependable performer that handles heat and swampy conditions very well. This variety's growth during the summer has been phenomenal.

One of my favorites.  I had the red and white varieties planted at my home in the north suburbs of Houston when I saw this story.  Foliage does resemble Cannabis sativa but not that much!  My house did not get raided thankfully!

Thanks for posting that news story about horticultural mistaken identity. I would have been very perturbed, to put it mildly, if I'd been subjected to a police raid like that. At least where I live that won't happen now, due to recent state-level changes in terms of what plants one can grow in their garden if they so choose. Personally I'll stick with ornamentals.😉
