Hello,

This isn't a plan question but I hope someone can point me where to go to get help on this.

I received some seeds from a friend and was told they were of the Adasonia Madagascarensis.

Out of the 6 seeds one sprouted and became a small tree very quickly and was healthy as all get out then early this spring the leaves developed yellow splotching and slowly fell odd one by one.

I have come to understand that these trees rest and when they leave are off to stop water when the leaves sprout to start watering. I backed ff watering and then in late spring a new set of leaves emerged but they have struggled to stay green and are very small in size, it's like the tree is slowly loosing steam.

Can any one help me with identifying what's wrong with this guy? I was told it was spider mites and to throw the thing out but I don't want to do this but if I'm fitting an up hill battle then it's best to know.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

I agree with @Navarro. These are some of the few succulent plants with preferences that are contrary to most of the others. A course sand mixed with a non-organic loam works best for this genus. A larger pot will keep the soil moist longer, and allow for faster root expansion.
