Chrysalidocarpus madagascariensis Flowering?

Recommended Posts

Posted this plant before bought as lutescens Definetly not . Some mad hybrid maybe mad x luts but either way looks like it is flowering for the first time . Do these produce viable seed ? Or are they sterile ? Base of the next frond is bulged out nicely and I can barely see some flowers sticking out the top.

Chryo mad is a very variable species.

Sometimes as a single trunk and sometimes as a loosely clustering multiple stem var with only  2 or 3 trunks.

Sometimes looking like a multistichous looking triangle palm.

If it's a hybrid I would say it probably will produce viable seeds at some point.  I'm growing some F2 hybrids I grew from seeds sourced from @NatureGirl's pembana hybrid that might be crossed with madagascariensis.  But first flowering might not yield much seed.
