I know they have been around for almost 10 years now in the States thanks to Coldplant so I was wondering if anyone had trunking ones yet.  From my experience, they thrived in pots but once I placed them in the ground, the growth dithered somewhat.  Regardless, who can't love their beautiful white underside.  Mine is growing in a very shaded and crowded planter on the north side of my house so root competition may be a factor.  Share a pic or experience of yours if you have one.

Cheers

Tin: My Trachycarpus princeps has been in the ground for several years now, partially shaded from the intense summer sun here in interior NorCal by my pergola. It's just starting to show something that looks like a trunk. My plant seems to hold onto a lot of leaves, so it's very dense. That's a Cycas debaoensis on the right photobombing one of the images.

I seem to vaguely recall that the British have had this palm in cultivation for probably close to 2 decades. Maybe someone there has a specimen they'd like to share.

Here’s mine from a tiny seedling from

kevin weaver about 6 years ago or so . I remember him telling me these are expensive 20 bucks  per 1 gallon should have bought more than the 1 but not into Trachycarpus this one was white as a seedling . Hard to see it in the shade on mine but the underside is completely white . Heavy white powder in center growth new spears
