An informal tour with palm, cycad, and tropical plant lovers is scheduled for Saturday, September 2nd, 2023 beginning 9:00 AM at Kopsick Palm Arboretum.  Below is the planned itinerary and some additional information:

  • Site 1: Kopsick Palm Arboretum
    • 605 11th Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701
    • Note the main entrance is at the intersection of 12th Ave NE and N Shore Dr NE for those using GPS
    • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
    • Arrive and tour Kopsick Palm Arboretum in the morning before the sun is overhead.
    • There is no admission cost for this site.
  • Lunch: Break for lunch from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
    • Enjoy some grub on your own or join some of the attendees for a group lunch.
    • Head to Sunken Gardens for the tour.
  • Site 2: Sunken Gardens
    • 1825 4th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704
    • 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
    • Note that the adult admission at this site is $15 to be paid by the attendee.
    • If you have a reciprocal pass, then you should be covered.
    • The site does have bathrooms and an indoor area if you get too hot.
    • Depending on the time we finish, there might be time for one more site...
  • Site 3: Tampa Tropical Asian Nursery
    • 7520 Caron Rd, Tampa, FL 33615
    • 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
    • Provided we finish the previous site on time, we may visit this nursery before it closes for the day.
    • The inventory includes a wide variety of fruit trees like mangoes and avocados.

  • Additional Information:
    • If you are concerned about arriving late and/or connecting with the group when you arrive, PM me and I'll ensure you have my contact information.
      • If you are a CFPACS Member, you should receive an email with information about how to connect with us when you arrive.
    • As this is an informal tour being attended by members of various societies rather than an official CFPACS quarterly meeting, the organizers of this event are not planning on having an auction or a vendor plant sale.
    • If an individual chooses to buy/sell/trade with other attendees, this is solely at the discretion of the involved parties.
    • Anyone is welcome to attend, whether a member of one or more societies or just someone looking to tour with like-minded people.
