I went to pick up my wife from work and I came across this palm which was planted all over the hospital . It has a blueish color and multiple buds growing on a single trunk . Do you know this type of palm ?

^^^ Definitely, I had a Blue Nannorrhops ritchiana driving me nuts for weeks every time I drive by it I was like WTH is that THING? I wanted to take a pic and post it but I eventually figured it out when doing unrelated Palm researching.

It was at that point I discovered that Nannorrhops ritchiana comes in Green, Blue-Green and Blue. The example I found on the Island is clearly fairly old, has multiple trunks and is completely BLUE.

I nicknamed it the ‘Multi-headed Blue Dragon Palm’ until I finally figured out what it was actually called.

Marcus that example you posted looks more Blue Green than the one I found, I will see if I can go grab a quick pick for you.

Yes the palms were more Blue Green I always wondered what kind of palms they were . They're located at the Children's Hospital in downtown San Antonio.  These are planted on the emergency entrance and visitor entrance.  Never seen this type before seems to be rare in this region.

Extremely rare here in Corpus Christi as well, I don’t think I have seen another one on or off the Island.

This gentlemen won “Yard of the Month” here recently and may I say he was long overdue. Sorry for the low quality zoom pic I took it from the street and the Palm is set back a bit deep into the landscape.

Pic taken today midday, color looks more “Blue Green” in the pic but to the naked eye it appears more “Silvery Blue”.

Here are a few more Palm pics of the same front yard. This man has one of the better collections on the Island his diversity of species is unmistakably eye-catching. (Palm Talker maybe?!?)

I am obviously still working on improving my Palm ID skills as I am still learning all the variations within each species, so please feel free to help ID any Palms I have misidentified or not completely IDed.

The yellowed one looks like L.chinensis.

For sure they always get yellowish or turn an olive green color here in Corpus Christi it makes them easy to pick out. I was trying to figure out if the little Palm tucked just behind and to the Left of the L. Chinensis was a S. Minor or a baby S. Palmetto those two always throw me for a loop. Maybe even a S. Etonia?

If you're sure it's a Sable, I'll say S.minor. Palmetto usually has filaments between the leaflets. Without seeing the base, maybe Rhapidophyllum.
