[PSA] Will planting my palm in a pot that had a previous spider mite infestation be ok? No it will not.

Short answer is NO

I had an alocasia potted in a farmers pot sitting in a decorative pot. It suffered a severe spider mite infestation so I elected to simply remove the alocasia from the pot and place it out doors. I then moved my kentia palm (also in a farmers pot) into the same decorative pot. Just sitting there. And guess what. Kentia palm now has spider mites.

make sure you absolutely sanitize any pot your use if it suffered from an infestation
