Hello,

I received some Chambeyronia Macrocarpa seeds a week ago and have been germinating them in a plastic container with moistened paper towels. I was curious if anyone had a successful germination process and had an idea of how long these usually take to germinate?

Thank you!

Thank you so much for your response. Wow hundreds! That’s so awesome. Sounds like I will have to get a heat mat. I can’t wait for them to start growing.

Been a while but baggie method with no extra heat worked well for me. They seem to be particulalrly easy to germinate and establish compared to other New Caledonian palms.

Quick question, the seeds I got had the fruit intact and even after cleaning and removing the fruit the seeds still had this bad wine smell to it. Is that normal?

Should be fine provided picked at maturity.  Sounds like they are really fresh and you should do well.  Good luck!

Basically my process and experience as well. I had 100% on a fresh batch of C macrocarpa var hookeri 5 years ago using baggie method with no added heat.
