Hello,

I was curious if anyone had a successful germination process and time frame for Alexander palm seeds?

Thank you,

Jordan

If you are talking about archontophoenix alexandrae yes, I bought 10 seeds, and they germinated in 2 weeks. I've used orchid moss in a tapper and I had it outdoors, +80º every day and minimum temp 70º now the palms are starting to get their first leaf.

Ok awesome. I have 17 seeds and they’ve been germinating for 12 days now. So I’m eager to see them pop. I’ve had them indoors at 77-82 degrees..do you think that is good temp or should I put them outside? I’m in Arizona so it’s still about 100 everyday and in the high 60s/low 70s at night

Indoors between 70 and 85 is perfect. Keep them in there, they should pop in a couple of days, which media are you using? Perlite? Coco fiber? I will upload a couple of pictures of mine poping out in a couple of minutes.

They're tough little things, grow like weeds in my garden. But I am in their natural habitat.

Oakley, California

55 Miles E-NE of San Francisco, CA

Solid zone 9, I can expect at least one night in the mid to low twenties every year.

Hot, dry summers. Cold, wet winters.

These germinate readily. Took mine about 3 weeks at 86º F.
