Absolute noob with a kentia palm

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just moved into my boyfriends apartment, and I have no experience whatsoever with plants. But I’ve made it my mission to revive a beautiful plant that came with his apartment.

He has what appears to be a kentia palm in ill health. I’m trying to revive it but I have very limited knowledge. I think it was under watered, so I cut off brown leaf tips. It gets plenty of indirect natural light. I began dusting and misting it. I am wondering what you guys think:

Do I need to repot it? If so, are there any recommended resources for how to properly repot it and exactly what supplies/planters to purchase. I have access to an outside porch area.

Does the size of the pot look suitable?

thank you so much in advance :,)

I included one photo of the plant 3 months ago in june. The other photos are from today.
