Hi all!

I have a few things mounded and curious what I can plant to cover the huge mound of soil - something tropical and green would be nice - what will coexist with my cycad?

thanks guys!

I like to use boulders and rocks to support the mound and to keep the soil from washing away.  I don't plant anything inside the ring that will distract from my cycad focal point.   Outside the ring I like to keep things low growing.   Succulents and small aloes are often my selections. For nearby plantings.

Your plant is trimmed up, but when an Encephalartos holds older flushes, the low space around it shrinks.  You have a little room along the edge of the paving stones but keep it low .

That is pretty not sure but I’ve seen similar at local nurseries - rocks are also a good idea and will help with structure anyhow!

Some examples of mounding with rocks and use of low growing succulents nearby.  Since the caudex is interesting on Encephalartos, keeping them visible is always nice when you can achieve it.
