Hello, I was wondering if thé hybrid Washingtonia x Filibusta is good and frost hardy for zone 8a ???

Does it have the power to regenerate a new spear After a hard freeze the way washingtonia Filifera does?

Thanks

Frost isn't the problem. It's when you get "wet snow".  In New Mexico they get cold (-15°C) and "dry snow". But east of the Mississippi River, snow is heavy dense and "wet". It will damage the bud.

Will the Filibusta bud regenerate in case like washingtonia Filifera does ?????

I don't think filibusta is frost hardy for your zone 8a. It is more like upper zone 8b or 9a(for long-term) palm. I am trying to grow it in my zone 8b cool and wet winter pnw. It has been in the ground for 2 la Niña winters and its fronds always got zapped by the wet snow. But it recovers in the summer.

This tree went through 3F in 3021 and 11F Feb 2023 unprotected in Dallas. It has completely regrown a full head of foliage in one growing season.

Yours looks like a Filifera and not a Filibusta.

What specie is it ?

In an oceanic climate like Belgium it has no chance of survival unprotected longterm I think. You need more like a 9b climate in these wet cold winter climates with not much summer heat. It might work on the south coast of England or Britanny.
