Anyone offering coconut palm seeds that would survive Ocklawaha, FL ! I was given potted coconut palm that a friend brought up from Miami but ? What type it was and it died

It’s unlikely that any variety of coconut would survive there very long without a greenhouse. And you posted in the freebies section which is for plants that are available for free. You should post in the wanted section. @redant sometimes gives away coconuts but you would have to go get them.

Coconuts are difficult to grow outside in the Ocala area.  Along the I-4 corridor, there are only a handful of spots they are viable beyond 15-20 years.  They even take damage or die in the UHI and water-modified climate areas in Orlando and Winter Haven that are borderline zone 10a.

try to find yourself a mule or beccariophoenix alfredii for the look without the worry
