Beautiful palm. I wonder how old it is and it still looks very healthy. Some pretty nice surf in the background as well. Thanks for sharing!

One of the beaches I worked as a lifeguard in college and it was large back then.  The local paper had an article about this palm achieving historical status in the City of Encinitas.   Moonlight Beach is technically in old Encinitas as opposed to Leucadia before these two unincorporated communities combined with Cardiff and Olivenhein to become the City of Encinitas.   I hope the weevils don't kill it after losing one a couple of weeks ago on the street behind mine.

Are these hybrids? The trunks are very slender for a canariensis.

I think the trunk appears thinner only because it's so much taller than what one would typically see.
