Pleasant surprise in early winter

I was pleasantly surprised to find a new neighbor in a newly built house, planted a Butia - a fat one too. Hopefully, he is a crazy palm addict just like all of us.

It will look really nice when it grows some long fronds up and around that entranceway .

Sad that kids my age instead have an addiction to video games and all sorts of stuff, but my palms and tropicals addiction just keeps getting worse and yet the worse it gets the more my neighbors praise me and my parents about our tropical garden. Next thing you know my massive butia will be planted up front, and hopefully attract chicago quaker parrots. Waiting for winter to pass by! FYI, I got a fat trunk specimen pre ordered.
