What are some good plants I can put in my pot to accentuate the palm without risking overwatering or drying the palm out? I have a 2 foot Mexican fan, and a 2 foot pindo palm but every cheap flower I have in there keeps dying would cacti work or would they dry out the palm since they don’t require as much watering ? I only water the palms once a week so I  don’t want water hungry plants in there with them. Also what are good tips for keeping them healthy in pots for a long time ?

I would try planting some succulent or sedum.  They come in all different sizes,shades,colors.  

look up Laura Eubanks on YouTube.  she is a garden designer in California that does amazing gardens with all kinds of succulents that are eye catching but be careful her Videos are addicting. Lol

heres one I like to do.
