I imported a few trachycarpus fortunei and cycas deboensis they came with the correct paperwork going straight through customs not a problem I have purchased from the seller before with good germination rates but with the new import regulations it’s nice to find another supplier with the correct paperwork the fortunei seeds have a one year ripening period then they start to germinate the last lot of fortunei seeds I germinated I gave up on then they came up

Did it come through the Sydney or Melbourne gateway facility? Sydney has been a good experience for me. The Melbourne one not so good. When you enter a species name into the BICON database you have to be able to spell. There’s is no botanical auto correct on BICON. Once the Melbourne facility told me that Bismarckia nobilis was not approved for import into Australia. They didn’t spell it right so it never came up. Every time I’ve imported stuff through Melbourne it’s been a head ache.

Millbrook, "Kinjarling" Noongar word meaning "Place of Rain", Rainbow Coast, Western Australia 35S. Warm temperate. Csb Koeppen Climate classification. Cool nights all year round.

I've given up.  They're simply too hard to deal with.

It’s quite clear that Australian quarantine is woefully understaffed, so I suppose they are happy if we give up because it’s less work for them.

It came through Sydney I have mixed results with customs but I do know one thing politeness’s goes a long way they just lost a order of mine for six weeks I finally got them with no inspection fees which was rather nice I thought it was Xmas so i think they felt like giving away presents 🎁 one thing for sure is don’t muck with customs
