I have 30 seeds for attalea crassispatha on the way. How would I go about germinating these palms so that I get the best chance for germination. Also how long do these take to germinate?

Nicely done. I believe you outbid me on one of those seed batches lol. I have not germinated any Attalea before, but I would imagine higher heat and humidity being a Haitian palm. Best of luck as Attalea is one of my favorite genus.

I germinated Attalea spp seeds by obtaining a ~2' x 3' lidded storage tub, putting several inches of damp (not soggy) orchid moss after soaking, then placing tub outside under canopy when temps rise above 80-85+F (Attaleas are cold sensitive so don't stick them outdoors in low temps). Check weekly for signs of germination. After germination, pot each seed into a 14"+ treepot as you would a coconut seed. Be very, very patient while waiting. I've had Attalea seeds take 2-3+ years to germinate.

Yeah there was someone winning all 4 so I had to get 1 of the batches especially fir an attalea so rare, hopefully I'll get some to germinate and if germination is good then I'll gladly sell some off.

Beat my bidding as well. Looks like Redlands got most of them if I’m not mistaken . I’ve got a couple plants already so I wasn’t to upset

I’ve had great results with attaleas that don’t sprout within the first few months . I take them out of medium clean them real good and soak again for another week them back into baggies with heat and that usually gets them going .

Also like stated above tall pots work best once sprouted . Tall skinny pots seem to work best for me
