When ordering plants online, I'm often wary of wild colors, knowing that sellers edit their photo's to grab attention.  False advertising.  However, I ordered some Ajuga expecting a decent amount of color.  Small specimens need to get bigger before I plant them out this spring, so these have been under a grow light.  I cannot believe how brilliant the coloration is.  It's due to light exposure, the bottom picture shows an Ajuga that was further from the grow light.   Behind the "burgundy glow" is "parrot paradise" which looks amazing online but has yet to do much.

This is going to want full sun for max effect.  The only editing I did to this photo was to crop it down for better sizing, I didn't mess with the colors at all.   It's that insane.

Wait till you see it bloom in spring. Outstanding blue spike flowers several inches above the foliage.  Older foliage doesn’t have the bright colors has been my experience.  Spreads by creeping runners that take root.
