First bloom on my seed-grown thraskii.  Took about 6 years or so to get to this size.

Josue: Very impressive for a 1st bloom! I'm still waiting for my A. vaombe to send up flowers. And I don't expect my A. hercules to bloom for a few more years, though it is taller than me now!

Well, it tried to flower last year but the flower didn't develop.

If you look in the first photo, the red blooms left of the thraskii is vaombe.

For some reason, thraskii was always susceptible to crown rot for me.  Grew fast, flowered beautifully, but every year in the spring would get crown rot, then recover and power on, until one year it didn't.

Bummer! I haven't had issues with it yet. Fingers crossed.

Another Trashkii, but with a bit of an unusual colour. It's growing on a rooftop and was mostly green all summer but this winter has hardly rained in Eastern Spain. This stress turned the Aloe into a stunning plant.

It has been one of the fastest growing aloes for me considering it was just a tiny seedling three years ago. To get an idea of the size, pot is 50x50cm (roughly 20x20 inches).
