While recently traveling in India i was fortunate enough to see palms in the landscape although none in habitat but certainly a few phoenix Washingtona 

palms used to great affect in the landscape and a few chamaedorea sefritzii and some golden canes used as patio plants outside shop fronts India is a very unique place to travel through that’s for sure
