Increasing variety is now available in local nurseries, such as Royals, Kings, Triangles, and to a lesser extent, foxtails. Never seen cocos yet, but they seem to be becoming more common in local nurseries where i believe I saw them near Timi, but I will stop to confirm if my eyes did not deceive me.

Slightly fried royal in Kuklia after winter, 2 km from the coast and 80-90 m above sea level.

Doubt that browning in last picture was induced by cold. I suspect rather inadequate watering. Generally lack of water is the most limiting factor for more public planting of tropical palms in this part of the world.

I’m returning to Cyprus in August after living in Australia since 2019.

I hope I can get my mits in some good palms there!

Hey what are nurseries like down in Paphos?

I haven’t found much variety Palmwise here in Larnaca. I went to Q gardens in Zygi, not much variety with small palms but they had some massive Areca catechus!
