Hi folks, can anyone help with recognizing these seeds. Are they Brahea and if they are, what sort Brahea are they. I came across them at the Botanical Garden in Catania (Italy). Unfortunallity, I was can't find the palm tree, where they are was.

The ones I have outlined with a circle are Braheya Armata, and I have put them, to see the difference between them.

Does the garden have any Butia or Jubaea?

Yes, they have both palms - Jubea Chilensis and Butia Eriospatha, but their seeds are different..?

Those spots on the seeds make me want to say they look coccosoid, which means that they are potentially from a Butia. The size seems right, too.

I've actually never handled Brahea seeds before- plenty of plants in the yard but no flowers yet. Maybe this year they are all 10 years old-ish, so I could be totally off.

Solid zone 9, I can expect at least one night in the mid to low twenties every year.

Ok folks. I took a new photo, apologies for the quality and hope it's more understandable. IMG_20240401_193607.thumb.jpg.413beedb818e54f3a947ebe93ab9db8e.jpg

I think the ones circled might be Brahea edulis.  Seems to me that they are slightly larger than armata seeds.  Do you remember the color of the fruits before they were cleaned?

Yes, like the first photo, they was black. The seeds were scattered on the ground in large diameter. I never knew which palm they were from. They are definitely larger than the seeds of Brahea Armata.
