•First month on March 2024, 5 seeds were germinated using the ziplock method/tissue method. Then started to planted them on soil, i waited for about ±1.5 weeks and only 1 seed grows, The other 4 is still not growing, idk why and what is the cause of it.

•Second month on April 2024, still the four of them didn't grow so i'm just assuming them died.  And the one date palm that is growing rn is already have a leaf and its green but not yet emerge. Idk why it got twist or bend but overall its in a good condition i hope so :)

Update July 6th.

I were not able to make my date grow again, it's leaves are browning and sadly it died. No hope or signs of life for now.

The part of palm gardening that sucks the worst - losing plants.  Keep your chin up.

3rd strap leaf stage of growth  is the most dangerous one for Phoenix seedlings to succumb to damping-off. If potting medium is very freely draining they usually survive, if not they almost always die, especially when air is very moist. This was not a proper substrate for dactylifera seedlings, ideal would be a poor one, full of gravel and neutral to alkaline.

A friend gave me some dates to munch on and I saved and planted the seeds. .  That was 2017 Not sure how long it took to sprout or when I planted them out but here are photos of the fruit, the 3 I planted taken in 2020 and again in 2023.  Today the top of the fronds are about 6 feet high.
