Zone 8b/9a trachycarpus fortunei in Dublin, Ireland :) 

Taken last summer by me. It seemingly appeared out of nowhere. It wasn't there a few months beforehand

No, not at all. I haven't seen any other palms this size, other than a few fortunei as well CIDPs of no more than 7-8 metres in height. I can't seem to find any more information about the palm whatsoever online (located in farmleigh)
