What's the growth rate on these compared to a regular palmetto?

Posted

Same. It's just that it takes 4 or 5 years of growing from seed ,before you know which plants express the trait. Then you also have a bunch of standard plants that you have also invested 5 years in growing that nobody wants,so prices on a proven lisa may seem high to those unfamiliar with the process.

I found them to be slower compared to regular palmetto seedlings when they were small.  Took a long time for me to get them going (years), but now that they are larger the growth rate seems to be typical for palmetto.

This is good.  I got a couple variegated palmetto and I thought it would be cool to do a triple planting with a lisa.

Variegated palmetto are pretty hard to find.  That would be an interesting planting of foolproof palms.
