I am doing something different around my palms. Will this black edging cause any issues?  It sits at grass level and held with stakes. So the stakes are the only thing in the ground. We are using it to hold the mulch in. Any cons?

I don’t think the edging will have any affect other than holding in whatever mulch you use . It is visually nice . I use river rocks to keep the mulch from migrating away when I water or it rains. Harry

I use the stuff all over the place.   I don’t love the look, but if you dig down an inch when you lay it, it keeps the lawn at bay.  Otherwise, I get totally swamped by St Augustine 3x per year.   In time I’m going to add a rock border in front of it to hide it, but I love the way it works.

This experimental combo looks terrible.  It’s just temporary as I expend this area soon….

PS - if you crimp the top of those spikes with pliers, to grab the top edge tightly, they hold in lace much better.
