The garden at the back of the house was in need of renovating with a good prune and some bromeliads removed giving more room for a few more plants giving it a good top dress of soil and good gardening eye certainly helped it out this area of the garden was some of the first gardens that where planted on top of a rock shelf with pockets for soil so basically one big container garden it is a dry area and hot in summer making a good place for cycads and some common tough plants the bromeliads where starting to take over plus a good opportunity to get some garden space for new plants in the collection they say what makes a true is they are always renovating their garden well that never ends in my garden 🪴

Looks great , lots more room for more palms for sure. The garden gnome keeping a watchful eye out. My Irish mum would tell me , whenever we were getting veggies out in her garden , to thank the wee people that looked after the plants . They were not to be fooled with if they became angry! She really believed it , so I did too. We have a few here ( gnomes) in her honor. Harry

Yep some more room to plant some chameadorea varieties being a dry part of the garden some chameadorea adscedans will go perfect on mass and the gnomes are from my grandmother who was Irish descent so the little gnomes have a lot more than we think and know a lot more than we think.

I have one that is a sort of yellow/cream with deep pink shading but not pure yellow.  Most of mine have the big flowers, only a couple of the small flower variety. My front yard is finally laid out how I wanted it but I am so far behind with the maintenance that it looks so untidy. The backyard is jam packed with things in pots, piles of rocks for projects and a lot of holes I had dug but aren't draining well enough yet.  There are always so many small jobs to be done that I run out of time before any big tasks are done.  It's 27 today, tempting to plant some things but I know how deceptive this climate can be.

I have the small yellow one from my grandmother’s garden I shall put one in for you next order and a# for odd jobs iam on the same scale of you with rock’s greenhouses new garden beds soil to be moved but in a much grander scale except I use my tractor with a bucket to move all that around and I have one greenhouse that needs to finished with benches with overhead irrigation plus iam already starting another 40 meters long  by 5 meters wide then there’s the shed iam building plus general house garden maintenance and work 5 days a week iam starting to lose a few new small palms to the cold weather with last weeks cold snap but I was  expecting that iam trying not to water as much as I can hopefully keeping the wet cold out of the greenhouses but I love doing it all it keeps me busy plus it’s fun we both need a gardener a couple of days a week.

It's raining tonight after the warm day. The ground here gets very dry so even though it's mid winter, I run the sprinkler once a week. The hanging baskets and potted things  in the open still need watering 2 or 3 times a week, the shade house weekly and the houseplants every 3rd day as I have the heating set for 19c and it comes on as soon as it falls below than in the house. The last 3 nights though it hasn't come on at all.  A yellow euphorbia would be lovely thank you.  I wont be ordering anything for a little while. I have to find nearly $2,000 for the poochies' dentist bill.  You better hope I sell some plants and pottery quickly so I can start saving up again for palms.

The poochies are getting old, need a few if not most of their teeth out and the rest properly cleaned. 2 had all their teeth out last year and the 2 old cats need some work done too. As much as I love my palms,  the kids come first.  After such a warm sunday, today was  a shock. Too damp and miserable to work outside so I spent the day on the pottery wheel which means instead of working until after midnight every  night I can go to bed early tonight for a change.

Iam the same with my pets they can’t talk so we have to look after them no matter the cost but i will say vets are more expensive than doctors I have had the $6000 cat the $7000 dog bu5 I wounot trade them for any in the world not even for every palm in the genus.
