Update: Palms Moved + My Brainchild

Hi all, I took some advice and moved my Majesty Palm to a shadier spot. I also have a few palms that I have to showcase!

first, the Majesty got moved. I am going to try one thing at a time to narrow down what its problem is.

New Growths!!!

Next up, my prized Bottle Palm (I think)

it has grown a LOT since I’ve had it. The leaf in the top right just came in a week ago and there is another coming up as of this writing! (Look in bottom center)IMG_8534.thumb.jpeg.c68d06a3b2764caa8d080a62510eec1a.jpeg

Now for my other Pygmy Date.

got this little guy at Lowe’s. Here’s a tip for anyone looking to buy one from a home improvement store. GO WITH HOME DEPOT. This guy was $22 USD. As for the much bigger Pygmy in my last post, it was $19 USD at Home Depot.

Since you guys seemed to like my chairs I figured I would show you how they look in conjunction with the palm.

I plan on getting fertilizer for them soon. I am so excited to keep you all in the loop! I also am very grateful to be part of such a wonderful community of people!

The shade should help . It will take a while to see any improvement but the color on any new fronds that open will be darker and perhaps larger in the shade. . Harry

summertime and the livin's easy. Great patio for the palms!

If you want to find real deals on palms, I'd recommend checking out a plant nursery near you, as Home Depot, Lowe's, and other garden center stores will definitely have higher markups. Wherever landscapers go to get their plants. I just did a google search and I see there's some place called Plumline Nursery in Murrysville that sells a fairly good range of palms, probably much bigger than at Home Depot, etc., and fairly reasonable. Keep an eye out for when places like that have palm sales. I went to a nursery in Maryland that was doing a father's day weekend clearance sale on palms and it was nice. Got a clump of nine individual asian fan palms for only $20

Wow what a steal! I’ll have to look up that place in Murrysville. Thanks
