My majesty palm has been dying slowly, but when I watered it and fertilized it often its looking better but theres still something keeping it yellow and bad looking. Could it be root rot? Nope. Could it be the harsh sun? Nope. Could it be a nitrogen deficiency? Nope. My dog has been peeing on it every day for the last few months. im 80% sure the sodium and acidity is killing it 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ I moved it and I swear if it starts recovering like that was the issue..

(not entirely sure if its the problem but it very well could be)

Water it thoroughly daily if possible. These palms are aquatic and need constantly wet roots to look their best. Also magnesium addicts. They need more than most species.

Spindle palms last for years in pots trouble-free.

@Jim in Los Altos I could not find one of your similar comments on King palms so I am replying to this one for your help and expertise.  I have not had any success transplanting King palms from the pot (1 gallon pots, from Home Depot) into my clay soil.  I watered every day properly for the first two weeks.  Then every other day after that.  About 6 months later, I dug up the stagnant palms to investigate. I rotted the roots with too much water.  Too many black mushy roots.  I am wondering if only Kings grown from seed in swamps can handle growing in water because I have to embarrassedly admit I can't seem to grow a King palm successfully from pot to ground (clay), thanks
