"Lethal bronzing" in latin america (Marchitez Letal, ML)

I found out today that lethal bronzing (LBD) seems to exist down to south america. Elaeis guineensis (Palm oil) producers know this disease very well because Elaeis guineensis is very susceptible to it and should be added to the list but instead of lethal bronzing, this disease is called "Marchitez letal" which would traduce to "lethal wilt" the sympthoms are the same ones of lethal bronzing. The lower leaflets without an order start yellowing, that yellowing starts turning into brown and the disease keeps going up until it reaches the spear. The same insect is the responsible for the transmission of this disease too. What seems to stop this insect is the elimination of grasses around the palm but when a palm is affected it has to be removed to prevent the infection of neighbor palms. This disease is probably in most parts of the americas already. Maybe it could have originated in South America and not in the Yucatan Peninsula.
