Pritchardia Pacifica seeds ........

I picked up some seeds at the condo we were staying at in Kihei Maui. My best guess is that it's P.Pacifica but a small possibility of Thurstonii. I took pics of the mother palm but didn't get the right angle to guarantee which seeds these are. When I make it back there next year I'll get the positive ID haha. Both species had seeds ripening but this palm was the only one dropping. PM me for any fair trades , I have about 300 seeds available.

I believe that this is indeed Prichardia pacifica.  P. thurstonii infructescence usually extends beyond the length of the fronds.  I think your photo angle is good enough to show the difference.  :)  The only question I have is regarding the seed size.  Maybe I'm not making a good size comparison from your photo but I seem to remember that P. pacifica seeds are less than 1/2" long and yours seem bigger?

Let me go measure , there for sure less then half an inch. There was so many Thurstonii ready to drop seeds but wasn't quite ready yet. Was really hoping they were Thurstonii but most likely Pacifica. Beautiful palm just a no go here haha. I have a pritchardia that I got from @jimmyt with no positive palm ID. Definitely not tender like I keep reading about Pacifica.

I thought I might have been seeing things!  😆  Yes, pacifica are definitely tender but might do better here in a "normal" winter without an extended cool period.

Not for sale ? Prefer to trade for just about any seeds.

So I was a tad bit hesitant trading these seeds away as the only way I know to see if these were viable was the dunk test. Well now I know for sure these are good with my own germination. Prolly atleast 30+ out of 50 so far. To all that traded with me happy germinating !
