Had this little chuniphoenix for 23 years in the container purchased originally as a single leaf it’s my pride and joy being in the collection for  so many years it does set seeds I have ove4 the years collected a few seeds but now I help it out with a small artist brush daily brushing the flower to give the insects a helping hand it seems to work with good seed set each seed has two seeds inside so a added bonus.

Very nice looking palm. You had introduced me to these palms earlier in the year and I am still looking for one. Harry

Yes they are a winner slow growing but definitely worth the wait if you can import seeds I can send you some seeds when they are ready that’s one option but much faster to get one that has a bit of growth already.

Yes , I have already asked the usual suspects . They didn’t have them . Growing from seed would be too tough for me now . I just put some Rhapis in the ground to see if they will sprout . I have had a few varieties that have come up. Harry

I bought one in a three gallon at the last spring palm sale. No stems above the soil. I have a couple C. hainanensis in pots I got from Hawaii recently and one that has been in the ground for years. It looks happy, but very slow.

Keep looking Harry you find one if you’re determined the rhapis should germinate but slow growing.
