There seemed to be interest in this species, so I'll formally make them available in the For Sale section.

Link from Palms/Plants/Seeds Wanted: https://www.palmtalk.org/forum/topic/85531-medemia-argun/

Description: Medemia argun is a gorgeous relative of the Hyphaene, Bismarckia, and Latania genera, with the typical large and sensitive root system you'd expect.  This palm is native to areas that receive little to no rain for years at a time and survive where there is groundwater.  The folks in South Texas have specimens that survived Palmageddon.  Like their close relatives above, they are dioecious, meaning you'll need a male and a female to produce viable seeds.  If you want this species without having to engage in the permitting and importing rigmarole, this is a great opportunity.

Details: These are sold either 2/$50 or 4/$100.  Shipping is included in the price.  I accept PayPal.  For those local or willing to drive, local pickup is available.  Plants will be shipped as you see them below, in a cup container with label affixed.  Thus far, those that have purchased these from me are very happy about the condition of the plants when they arrive.  Available while supplies last.  Currently, I can only ship in the CONUS.  PM with the number you are interested in purchasing and a shipping address and I'll respond with my PayPal information.  I'll ship the next available day after payment is made and provide you with a tracking number.

The Medemia argun seedlings I ordered from kinzyjr made it across the US with no problems! 😉

This is what my Medemia argun seedlings look like today in the Fall. They haven't been watered since I transferred them (in their original soil with minimal root disturbance) to these tree pots.  The leaves elongated and turned blue, and a new one is emerging on each seedling. They seemed to really enjoy our NorCal heatwaves this summer!! The trick will be getting them through the winter here!😉

This one has been slower than expected, based on results of others. In ground in Pearland, Texas for the last 2 years. Probably 6 years old overall. It has seen high teens the last 2 winters. Last winter it just had mulch at the base and a blanket over the Puya that protects it. Surprisingly the exposed fronds only burned slightly.

Looks good. Thanks for the info on your growing conditions. I think I'll keep my two in pots for the next few years!
