When to transplant this to a bigger pot?

I'm curious to know how much taller it can grow in this pot before the roots run out of room.  I do not see roots coming out of the bottom of the peat pot where I punctured holes.

Thank you for your help.

From what I can see , you have plenty of time. Wait until it at least has primary leaflets. What type of palm is this? It looks like it has plenty of room there. Harry

A bit of levity there, aye mate? You're probably safe until next spring.

Great, thanks for the replies.  @Harry’s Palms I planted seeds from store-bought Medjool dates a few weeks ago, so I'm not entirely sure what variety of palm they are. However, I'm excited to see that several of them have started to poke through the soil.

Not familiar with Medjool dates , some type of Phoenix palm then. They can produce fairly large root mass once established but it takes a while for that . Just keep an eye on the drain in the bottom of the pot . As @SeanK said , you have until at least Spring . Palms take a while to start their life , even Phoenix. Harry

No idea how large that pot is w/o some sort of a reference (a pen, a water bottle, a lighter, a ruler...), which is always a good idea to photograph your plants with. But yeah, that tiny seedling can stay there for a while. Even when the roots first start poking out, it'll probably be good for a while longer. But...that peat pot might disintegrate long before the roots show from the bottom.

It's in a peat pot. Just find a place on your property and plant it.

You are fine for now but I am growing some seedlings from medjool dates, and they grow very quickly. Within 2 months of germination I had some with 20cm of leaf and 30 cm long roots.
