Starting Another Palm Garden

Andy,

Your going to have a nice lush yard soon. I love to see all the palms going in, and some really nice species. Also compliments on all the rocks. Looks great.

Will you be adding some other plants for color and texture? Crotons, cordylines, flowering shrubs. It's great to have your friends pitch in, that alone speaks well for you.

Just getting Wal of his rear end and planting the ONE palm, hey, you gotta love him. :D  Look forward to the update pictures next year.

Come on Wal, admit it;  not until the hole was completely dug did they reveal to you that there wasn't any beer down there.  You just put the D. last in the hole so no one would twist an ankle.

Jason, that looks like nice soft sand for digging in. I reckon we could get it done in a few hours. All you need to do is shout us the airfares, accommodation and beer, and we'll be there!

Looks good guyz!! I'd like to see it in another 10 years. How's the growth rate over there? Similar to Hawaii/Florida?

Dave, I guess the growth rate here is somewhere between California and Florida, it is really hard to know. Pals do grow fairly quickly here, as long as we get good rainfall.

Good job!! I wish my house looks like that!!! Anyway, really nice decking in the front of the house there. Do you know whether they use steel or timber frame for the decking? Scott is trying to build ours, and we are trying to get ideas how to do the steps. If Andy has the 'before' photos before the timber decking went in, it would be better.... :) :)

Thank you.

Here's some updated photos of Andy's place. Apparently Andy has been lurking around Palmtalk for a while now...time to show your face Andy...

Anyway, here's some updates on his garden which we planted out last year. Most of the palms are still getting their feet in and becoming sun hardened in a reasonably windy, exposed site with no protection. I reckon after this summer, they will be putting on some serious growth.

Time for an update on Andy's garden. It has now been three years since we had a Ratpack plantout there. Andy invited us over for xmas nibbles yesterday, so it was the perfect opportunity to get some updated photos...

With our forecast for a wet summer, everything will probably explode in growth over the next few months, now that it is all established and sun hardened.
