I’ve got a queen palm that’s still looking sickly and not pushing new frond growth. It’s got a healthy seed pod, and it has the inflorescence blooming… but I haven’t spotted any new fronds in the past 10-12 months. Most of the fronds are a mix of just ok looking, not great, and some  palm frizzle.. indicating manganese deficiency. I’ve fertilized all my palms 3 times this past year with Palm fertilizer, and I have no idea of what was done in the past with the previous owner. My soil Ph is increased a little up to 5.5 from 4.7 or so, and nutrients are looking better based on soil test. Watering was not consistent or enough up until this spring, simply because I lacked experienced with palm care. I guess I’m wondering now, what does that mean If a palm isn’t really pushing new growth.. is it stunted, is it somewhat dead?
