Pastel Colors of Rhopalostylis baueri

Jim in Los Altos

Recommended Posts

This particular Rhopalostylis baueri in the front yard shows off some nice coloring year round whenever an old frond breaks away. The palm is eighteen years old from seed.

That is a pretty one.  My Hyophorbes show many glorious colours too when the old sheaths come away.  Many of the palms recently planted, with more to go in, have coloured crownshafts  or trunks since I developed a passion for colour.

Peachy

Beautiful! I’ve never seen that type of color on a crown shaft before. Thank you for sharing. Harry

They are pretty palms even before forming a trunk!

I was a bit concerned about mine during our recent heat wave . It was over 100f for days , for three days it was 105f . It is in a shady spot so it never burned. It is growing slowly. Harry
