i received these form @Darold Petty i think maybe almost a year ago.  I have kept them in my very humid greenhouse and have not looked at them till today and ........... WOW!  they look so nice!!!!  Unfortunately one died but i have a very special spot for them in protected canopy.  i was doing some research and see some posts where they say there is a short wide form which i think i may have.  just a hunch.  regardless, i am in love with them right now and plan to plant them out next spring in the ground.  I was wondering if people who have had experience with them can chime in with their experience and of course cold hardiness.  thanks in advance.

cheers

tin

I have no experience with these but I’m sure someone here has. Unique coloring on them , I can see why they would be a welcome addition in a shady spot. Harry

I have three of them all narrow leaf form. They look nothing like your one. Supposedly they tried to lump them with genoformis but there is obviously a difference.

I’ve got the wide leaf Veracruz variety. About 3 years old from seed now I think, kept outside all the time with a couple of dips down to about -1.5C/29F. Pretty tough and a nice looking palm. Maybe going in the ground next year I think.

Tin, they look great !  The ID is air tight, as my seed source was Don Hodel.  :greenthumb:

Such nifty little palms, and I mean little! To me, they look better as potted specimens rather than panted out as they tend to get lost in the vegetation and become rather inconspicuous. I need at least a half dozen more in this grouping.

Hmm I might consider them as an indoor plant Tim. Thanks for chiming in. I really like the compactness of mine.

They're like a green form of metallica! Luv these lil' fish tail palms and if they are like metallicas then they do fine with window lite. Mine lived over twenty years😋

Here’s picture of another one I have. A completely different looking one altogether almost a mixture version of a tenella.
