Growing a lot of new growth. Very nice to see after some pretty nasty heat damage even under shade. About 3-4 fronds growing in after I pruned off about 2 fronds that were completely damaged from the unrelenting heat. I’ve been watering it about every 1-3 days now depending on how hot it’s been. The new growth seems to be coming out healthy after a period of slower growth. It was also damaged by a few storms that came by in July and August tearing up a few fronds. It seems to be bouncing back and growing the best it has so far this year.

They are very resilient with the right care. It looks like you have the formula . The palm should get tougher as it gets larger. Harry

Here in brutal Texas heat i guess they're more adaptable as mine actually luv it! Granted it does depend on where they are raised, seed source etc

@palmnut-fryWhere were these sourced? They look amazing! I would consider renting a U-Haul to haul them to NM of they are decent price.

I never seen Butia trimmed like this. It almost looks like a Phoenix species

A place called The Plant Shed in Bedford. I did ask where they were from but the cashier did not know.

Also, did not get prices...

Happy palm shopping!
