Chambeyronia “Houailou” flashed me!

Out slaving away in the yard, when Houailou is fixing to open a new leaf.

Maybe show us your Houailous in general flashing or not?

Here are my 2 in my New Cal planter. Interestingly neither throws a colored leaf. But either does its cousin Chambeyronia (Kentiopsis) Pyriformis. Seems strange.

Couple beauties Jason. They look perfect.

It seems the colored fronds aren’t too intense on Houailou. Mine is muted for sure. Still a favorite for us here in SoCal.

Here’s my wee feller. It was flooded and then flattened by Milton, hopefully a smooth recovery. This guy blushed a pinkish red new frond while in its pot but once in the sun and in the ground it’s green only!

This is the most colored frond I’ve seen outta my Houailou. Not as much color as @DoomsDave but I’ll take it.

Mine used to color more like yours; I suspect they get more intense as they get bigger.

Prop it back up and away it should grow; maybe stake it for a bit till it roots in or pile a bit of dirt up around the base.

I hope you’re right! I put that bucket of water and a potted C. prunifera against it to prop it up for now.

Looks like it might have been planted just a bit high, that's why I suggested extra dirt around the base.
