Another seed question

Hey, all, I wanted to see if anyone here has had a similar issue. This palm has flowered regularly for the last few years. Once the flowers are well pollinated, the seed grows pretty quickly and usually within a couple weeks changes from green to purple, indicating the seed is ready to drop. For some reason this year, the seed got to full-size, and then simply stayed green, ( for at least four months now), and there still firmly attached to the bract. I can’t really figure out why that might be. Would like anybody else’s experience and/or observations. Thanks in advance!

Bret, I had the same issue with my Livistona chinensis.  When I purchased the property in 2019 through this past year the fruits would form in May and would stay dark green through the late fall when they'd finally drop.  I managed to germinate one of the seeds from a green fruit in 2020 but I finally saw the fruits turn the typical blue/black color last November.  My assumption was that it was due to drought that we've had since we got summer rains last year but none in the previous five.

Could be drought, unusual amount of cold, or a lack of micronutrients.
