Potted up a few lanonia dasyatha a lone copernica hospita, licuala pelata sumowongii and some more Joey palms. I just like spending a few hours each day after work in the greenhouse it’s relaxing. Potting up or rearranging things finding what needs to be done in plant care growing palms. A few chambeyronia kentiopsis, Oraniopsis appendiculata, beccariophoenix Madagascariensis and a few chuniphoenix nana also had there day on the potting bench as well, it’s fun hobby I love so rewarding you get pick out the best plants for the garden being the grower.

The L dasyantha I got from you earlier this year took winter like a champ so decided to get it in the ground next to another that has been in for a couple of years. Great palm, tougher than they look.

Nice batch there , Richard. That Kentiopsis look familiar . The slowest growing of all my recent additions. HarryIMG_0339.thumb.jpeg.105b50bc32b66ea90b2c917c6cfe8bba.jpeg

Dooms Dave I presume palm# from New Caledonia do well in my climate. That’s a good example of one you have  there. I don’t have any in the ground yet busy planting other palms I will get there.

A bit of warm soil temperature would kick it along nicely. Richard

I had been repotting all weekend, went through 2 of those big 65 litre bags of potting mix.  There is still a lot more to do of course and then a big storm on the weekend sent my hanging pots and baskets flying, so the regular repots had to put on hold for the emergency work. Today is the Hoya's turn for a new home. I have 2 more bags of potting mix in the car but have to wait for someone strong enough to come and get them out for me. I can't even drag the bloody things anymore.  The house plants need potting up too so I am making them some pretty pots instead of the plain old every day type of thing.  It's nice seeing their poor little squashed up roots getting nice fresh soil and room to stretch out.  It must be my latent maternal instinct showing through.

I use potting soil by the tractor bucket scoop load that’s why I purchased it. Soil is one the key elements to what we do as our hobby and can get exspensive if we have an ocd hobby like both of us. I did that storm on the radar and thought wow it’s going to get flooded in south Queensland. The big roof rippers I call them. Hope you get your mess cleaned up soon. Hoyas are nice plants to have in baskets but watering has to be checked a lot in baskets. Go get one of the neighbourhood kids to carry your soil in for you from the car peachy put em to work instead of being on the computer games it would do them the world of good.
