When planting a young Pindo Palm,, how do I encourage it, to grow curved? Do I plant it leaning away from the sun so it then pushes towards the full sun making it Curve?  I saw one in Tree Planters and looked very Cool

Palms generally grow straight up. When one curves, likely it began to lean and continued to grow upward

You lay the palm over 45 degrees in the pot or in the ground once it has so much trunk and then it will resume to grow straight up.

So ... how would the root system not be exposed, at least partially when planting obliquely like that?

I have seen bent or leaning trunks straighten or find their way to grow straight up , leaving the curve towards the ground . Harry

I planted this windmill palm at an angle about 10 years ago. Growth was very slow the first few years, but it started growing faster recently.

This butia seems to be growing away from the wall to get more sun. I’m curious to see if it gets the curve as it gains trunk.
