Can someone tell me what is wrong with this palm? This has been going on for 6 months. The fonds go limp, get spots, then dry out. There are a lot of ants around the root ball. I’ve applied Reem oil, Bioadvance tree and shrub, palm fertilizer and adjusted watering. The plant gets a lot of sun. Nothing seems to help. Thanks

I am not sure what part of California you are in , but if it is in a drier area , you need to water those frequently for them to look their best. I am in Southern California and I water my Achontophoenix 3-4 times a week . I soak the ground all around them with a hose and never let them dry out completely. It is very dry this time of year here . I am about 20 miles from the beach and our Santa Ana winds can make them look a bit tattered . The new growth on yours looks good , the older fronds will dry out more rapidly this time of year , particularly if they aren’t getting enough water at the root. Harry
