Ditto. All my smaller palms in pots have been moved to sheltered spots and some have come indoors . On a plus side, I can now start thinking of additions to add to the collection for next spring

The way I see it, in just about a month days are gonna start getting longer, and in about a couple of months I'll have sufficient light coming from the outside again. Soon it'll be April again, and summer time and 100 degrees, which I can't wait!

I tell my brain also that in one month the day start getting longer which means warmer :) Also don't forget, just three months from now we should start seeing flowers on the fruit trees.

Good weather is over sadly 🥲

I can't ID the palms you have wrapped!  Looks like you are prepared.  :)  I like the yuccas you have also!  Do you have a heat source such as lights underneath the wrapping in case of severe cold?

Watching an approaching big cool off here in South Texas. So far this season have only dropped down to about 53F with highs mostly in the 80’s. Next week however is forecast to cool off big time with highs in the middle 60’s and lows in the lower 40’s. Really hoping we avoid any ice storms and lows in the teens this winter, but we’ll see.

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice fall!

Tonight I will be rummaging around in the dark with a headlamp grabbing all the young vulnerable palms (and a few larger ones still in pots and sensitive to the elements) and putting them in the garage. It seems the first freeze will likely happen tonight, for me. A bit early, feels like it will be a colder winter than last year... I have a lot of new palms in the ground from this Spring and... well.. hopefully I will still have them at the end of this winter season. Some of the coldest mornings for me can hit in the month of March, so there's a long way to go.
