Group planting of some beaucarnea guatemalensis

I have had these guatemalensis in containers for 23 years just sitting around. The poor things needed to be planted in the ground. So they  got there day today, a nice new red growth is one quality I like in them and so tough you cannot kill them no matter what you throw at them. They don’t look much at the moment give them a few years and they will look pretty good. I planted them in rocky area that has claimed more of its share of plants being dry I persisted constantly in planting something there and no matter what I planted they all died. So if I kill ponytails there iam giving up and going to plant cactus there.

There is what I believe is a B. guatamalensis near my house that is probably 25ft tall with like 15 heads.  It may also be B. recurvata but I can't quite see the new growth close enough from the street.  I'll try and get a photo next time I'm over there.

They do get tall and not as fat in the base as recurvata. I have a guatamalensis flowering at the moment in my garden and the panicle is a lot thinner and longer looking. I will be observing it closely for seed.

Can you send me a photo of that one I can compare to?

Does this look anything like it
